I have been lazy today and very slack in posting until now. Yesterday was all the fun that I expected and so much more. My aunt and uncle came to the swim meet yesterday too. My kids don't have grandparents on my side of the family so my aunt (my mother's sister) and uncle have become a kind of surrogate grandparents to our kids. This is the second swim meet that they have attended and they sit through the entire event. I have to admit, if I were going to one for someone else's child, I would watch one or two events (maybe stay about an hour) and then go. It is hot for the spectators in the pool area, very crowded, very hard to follow what is happening and quite honestly, you get splashed a lot. Since the meet was over around 5:30ish, we decided to go out to dinner with them and went to Golden Corral or the feeding trough as I call it. Not my favorite place to eat but I know that it is one of theirs so we went and joined them. I got a little more than I bargained for with dinner though. I was sick all night and pretty much all day today.
I helped my DH to get the kids ready for church this morning and hit the bed again and pretty much stayed there or the bathroom ( I know TMI) all day. Later, when the family came home, pretty much everyone took a nap. It was a relatively quiet day in our house. I say relatively because with two young children, it is never a completely quiet day. I hope your weekends were great ones. Regardless of whether I was at a swim meet and sick, it was still a great weekend because my family was together. The kids are such a blessing because even when you feel your worst, they will do something to make you laugh or feel loved and needed.
