No rest for the weary....

I am so tired today. I woke up at midnight last night and was up all night. That would be okay if I did not have two live wires running me ragged today. I am so sleepy that I am cross eyed, LOL.
I am trying to just keep moving, so far today I have washed, dried and put away 2 loads of laundry, sorted through some of the kids clothes to pull out the too small stuff, made all the beds, did some dishes, ran the vacuum and my girl and I did part of our schoolwork for the day. But when I sit down....I feel myself crashing. Right now as I type this, my eyes keep rolling back in my head and I feel like I am going to nod off. I better get moving again soon.
I had to take a pain pill last night for my back and instead of having the affect it does on most people, which is drowsiness, it does the opposite and makes me wired. It is like I have drank a pot of coffee, right before bedtime. The bad part is that I am still tired and sleepy, just unable too.
Well, I better get running again cause if the natives sense a weakness, they'll pounce.....Pray for me!

TGIF....

I don't know why I am glad its Friday because as a stay at home mom, its the same as every other day and tomorrow is just the same but I guess what makes it special is that my DH will be home for two days and the kids will have another adult to focus on instead of me. One thing about staying at home and teaching your own kids, is that they expect everything from you. You are their friend, their playmate, their teacher, their healer, their momma....You are needed for everything from breakfast in the morning, all the way to nightmares in the middle of the night and everything in between. Sometimes I feel like I spend more time playing with toys now than I did as a child. My daughter and son have me playing with everything from dolls and tea parties to cars and dinosaurs.
I love being here to do it but look forward to sharing the load with daddy on the weekends.

Right now my daughter has on a dog costume and has a dog tea party set up and is waiting for me to join. My son is not feeling well today so he is clingier than usual, if that is possible. I am trying to convince her that Brownie does not need (or want!!) to join our tea party. I created a monster when I made my Brownzilla posts. She now wants to take pictures of him in every possible scenario and on all of her toys.

Well, my dh promises me that he will spackle (is that what its called?) the walls tonight. I have been threatening to do it myself but he has a 5 gallon bucket of the stuff (left over from when he drywalled the garage) and it needs to be stirred well with this beater attachment that goes on a drill and I just don't want to get into his "STUFF" and he has told me that I can't (not that I will let that stop me if he doesn't start it tonight). We have the paint and should be able to get started tomorrow. The new curtains I ordered didn't work for me so I took those back so I am looking for some more. I am planning on just going with valances again. I would have to worry about the kids pulling down drapes or anything full-length and having them dry cleaned would be costly. So hopefully by the end of the weekend, I will have a freshly painted downstairs.

I hope you all have great weekends!

Update on my prayer request...

My peep, Flava K is coming home today! She did have some rough times after the surgery and it was a hard day for her yesterday but she is doing much better now and is coming home today.
Thanks for your prayers!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday! It actually got up near 80 degrees. We got outside for a while but we needed to get groceries so when daddy got home we all went for a change. Normally I try to go by myself but I asked my husband if he wanted to go and he surprised me by saying sure.
It seemed to take so much longer with them there and I think my dh was pretty stressed out by the end of the "experience". It is so funny how stay at home moms spend all day with their kids and if daddy has to deal with the "normal" stuff, it is just too much.

Spring Break? Not for some....

I was at the library with the kiddos yesterday and it struck me how sad it is that it was full of kids between the ages of 8-14 who are out on Spring break from school and had nowhere to be and no one to watch them. Are those librarians being paid enough to babysit 40 plus kids all day for a week? They were basically using the computers for whatever the allowed time limit was and then "taking a break" (I guess that was a requirement of the librarians) before getting back on the list and using the computer again. They were not studying or doing anything educational, they were just surfing the net, being too loud, and roughhousing (stealing each others cellphones and such) and using foul language (my kids heard more curse words from other kids at the library than they have ever heard from adults).
It was sad. The YMCA was having a "Spring Break Camp" which was just a holding area for kids for 10 hours out of the day this week. I think they do some stuff with them but I have seen them and I am not impressed (at least the one here). Is this what childhood is about now? My kids may not be vacationing at the beach or out playing everyday but I just hope that when they think back on their childhoods, they will remember that I did things with them. I know that it is not the choice of many of their parents but more a case of necessity that they are working. I just think its sad that in order to survive now days, our kids have to be sacraficed.
Well, time to get off my soapbox...

Just a quick driveby post today.....

We have a lot going on today so its just going to be a short little hello! Today is library day and school (we are having a hit and miss spring break week so we can drag it out to two weeks) and then we need to run some errands before fixing dinner and getting ready for swim practice and volleyball (for me). I'll be dragging by the time I get to volleyball at 8:30 tonight.
I may not even have had a post today if I did not want to request that each of you pray for my peep, Flava K. She is having some major surgery today. I will not share what it is for but as with any surgery, it needs to be covered in prayer. If you are reading this join with me now agreement of my prayer...
Dear Holy and Heavenly Father,
Please be with my friend and her family as they are dealing with this surgery today. Please give her a sense of peace and comfort in knowing that you are with her. Please guide the surgeon's hands and keep his mind clear and focused. Please help her recovery to be swift and her pain to be controlled. Please be with her family and friends as they wait and help her in the recovery process. Thank you for your blessings in this, AMEN!

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you have a blessed day!

Coming down off our sugar high...

My family enjoyed our Easter. My kids don't get much candy on a regular basis but on Easter they get all the candy their little stomachs (and teeth) can handle. I just let them have at it, because whatever is left will most likely get thrown away soon. It is funny though, the thing they want the most is bubblegum. We all had a little more candy than any other time of the year. Daddy got his Kitt Katt bars, my brother got his Snickers bars, The kids got their gum and Starburst and I had my Skittles. Then we went to Nana and Papa's and the kids got a 25 pound (just kidding but it is huge) solid chocolate bunny and more Starburst and Uncle L. got 2 packages of Reese's cup eggs (that is 16 of those suckers). I've got enough candy to restock our concession stand for the swim team! We had a Easter egg hunt after we got home from Nana and Papa's and then the kids had a bubble fight. They both got these little battery operated bubble guns in their basket so they just "shot" bubbles at each other. Mommy and daddy even got in on the action. It is so funny, kids don't even have to blow their own bubbles anymore. Now they have battery operated blowers that take all that stress away. Maybe if we had not had to blow our own bubbles as children, we would be better adjusted adults.....Just a thought...
anyway, I digress. When we got tired of freezing our hienies off, we came in and had dinner and watched "Snow White". The kids spent a little more time brushing their teeth last night than usual. All in all, it was a nice day. I hope yours was wonderful too.

Happy Easter!!!!

Just a quick drop in this beautiful morning to say HAPPY EASTER!!! We colored eggs yesterday. I really did not expect my boy to be into it but he was even more so than his sister. He really enjoyed it. My girl on the other hand has grown up some and was spending more time on each egg. He had already done his 9 eggs and was wanting to do hers too by the time that she had done 4 of them. As you can see, the Easter Bunny was generous to our family. The kids and my brother got their own baskets and daddy and I got one to share. We are about to get ready for church in our Easter finery and out to dinner afterwards I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Ode to Spring --A poem, by ME!

Ode to Spring

The days are longer,
the pollen flies,
The trees are budding ,
my allergies rise.

The weather is warmer,
there is much more rain,
The birds are singing,
but I have sinus pain.

Spring is here,
and I do so adore,
Its the sneezing I hate
and the watery eyes I abhor!

Oucherooni!!!

Okay, just in case you haven't had your weekly dose of anti-oxidants, how about a glass of WHINE!
(Ha, Ha, I amuse myself....if not anyone else) I was bending over to kiss my little man goodnight as I tucked him in on Weds. night (awwwww!) and when I went to stand up straight.....not so much!
Something just didn't click, lineup, groove....in other words, I was stuck! My back was OUT!
Not working....thrown....whatever you want to call it. I was one hurting momma! I immediately took some Motrin and got on the heating pad but so far....not working!!!
It is not the worse it has ever been but it is still painful. I have a herniated disk in my lower back that can just seize up at the slightest movement but I have been blessed for the last few years not to have it do that.
Anyway, That is my whine for the day. I am trying to lay down and give it time to get better but that is hard with two munchkins constantly wanting something from Momma. But the weekend is coming so maybe then Daddy can help out.
Oh, Guess What?....My beautiful little 5 year old won a silver medal in our Regional swim meet last weekend. We just found out last night when she went to practice since it was a 7 team/all day meet and they didn't have the final results when we left on Saturday. She is so proud of her medal, she wore it to bed last night and came downstairs with it on this morning. She also got several ribbons for placing in the top 5. She has one more regional meet in 3 weeks for the other league our YMCA is on so she is now excited about getting more medals or even better, she wants a trophy. I told her I don't think they do trophies for swimming but she is still hoping.
My baby is growing up so fast. She is already doing first grade (we have unofficially started it but will not do our official 1st grade curriculum til August when we start the new school year).
It is hard to believe that almost 6 years has passed since we became parents for the first time.
Well that is all the updating for the day. Have a blessed day and HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY!!

We were thoroughly "Enchanted"....

Yesterday we got a movie that we had been waiting for months to see, "Enchanted". It was quite a cute movie. My girl was truly fascinated by the story. My son... not so much, but then he isn't a fan of live action movies yet. I was quite happy just to watch Patrick Dempsey being his cute self.
Who would have thought that awkward teenage geeky actor would have turned out so handsome?
Do you remember him in movies when you were a teen? I do. He was in this movie called "Loverboy" or something like that and was so geeky and skinny and now....man oh man!
Anyway, check out "Enchanted" if you haven't already.

Some have wondered how I convinced my husband to get the new tv...well, I paid for it for the most part myself with some help from my brother too. We also got a really good deal on it from Costco (and my mean ole' BIL picked it up for us, he is really a sweetie but don't tell him I said that. He is much more comfortable with our current relationship, he calls me Trouble and I call him Scrooge, not because he's tight but because he's so mean). We actually purchased it for about $700 less than it normally lists for at the electronics store and about $250 less than I have ever seen it for on sale. It is very nice but I think it would be better if we get an HD signal and a Blu-ray DVD player eventually but I am happy with just the newer, larger TV. My sweet SIL did all the research on LCD tv's for us so we just bought the one that she recommended and purchased herself. Thanks SIS!!!

Is everyone ready for Easter? I still am not but I am hoping to get there in the next day or so.
We don't have any plans yet so if anyone has suggestions let me know. Well, I better get going. My daughter is in the kitchen making "Soup" . She has a pot (not on the stove) with water, carrots, grapes, pieces of apple left over from her lunch and a big spoon to stir it. She is having fun but my anal tendencies are at odds with the desire to let her have fun pretending.
Have a blessed day!!

Spring Cleaning.....

It's getting to be that time and I've got the bug...Spring cleaning time. I have not only decided that I am cleaning but I am feeling the need to declutter my house too. I took all the pictures off the walls a week or so ago and in the next couple of days I will be starting to repair all the nail holes in preparation for painting our downstairs. It is way past time for it. I have decided not to put everything back. I have also ordered new curtains for all the downstairs windows...shhh....don't tell my husband! I have decided to paint the walls a shade of light brown. We have this light sea foam blue/green carpeting that we can't quite afford to replace yet and for years I have been fighting against it with hunter green and burgundy stuff and just pretending it wasn't there. But now I have decided to embrace it and since we have brown/tan furniture (actually our couch is a brown/cream/turquoise plaid) I have bought brown and blue/green solid pillows and curtains. I will have to post pictures of it when I am done but I am hoping it looks good.

I have also been reorganizing closets, pantries and toy boxes and our entertainment center and clearing out stuff. The kids are not too happy about the fact that some of their stuff has disappeared but on the other hand, they are seeing stuff that they haven't seen in months because it was buried at the bottom of the toy boxes or dislocated.

We had a visit yesterday from our buddies M. and A. and their mommy, Miss W. They brought us lunch (from my kids favorite, Mickey D's) and stayed to play for a nice visit. And guess what?
My neighbor, you know the one that I mentioned before in previous post who arranged the play date at MY house?, well, she sent her not quite 4 year old across the street to ask if she could play with my DD. She did not even come with her!! Now, that is another story but suffice it to say, I was not too pleased. It was really nice to see our friends though. They were here for a short visit before heading out of town.

Anyway, that is what we've been up to. Oh and by the way girls, I got our new TV that I was whining about. Which will be taking up some of our wall space once we paint and get a wall mount for it. The kids are really digging the larger flat screen. My daughter keeps wanting to turn off all the lights and pretend that she is at the "The at ah" (She has this way of saying theater that makes it sound like she is at some upscale Broadway play.)
Have a blessed day!!!

Sunday...Funday....

Hi everyone! I have been MIA this weekend, SORRY! We had an all day regional swim meet yesterday that we had to be there at 7:30 AM and did not get home until almost 4:00 PM. We were all pooped. My girl did well I hear but I didn't get to see her swim because I was working concessions. Now, get ready for some major whining here, I am really amazed by the nastiness of a lot of the parents and spectators. We basically were being yelled at and got major TUDE from them because we were running out of food and supplies. We had breakfast biscuits early and then were suppose to have barbecue sandwiches, pizza and chicken but the YMCA coordinator misjudged the amount of food and timing so we had a hard time having enough. We sent out for more barbecue from the store and ordered more pizza but people were impatient and just downright rude. And me, being the shy, quiet type just took the abuse.....NOT! I had enough after about the fifth person snapped and there was a rumbling of more criticism in the line. I spoke up and said, "Alright, this is the deal, we have what we have, we are doing our best to get more but we are just PARENT VOLUNTEERS and not in charge. We are making do with what we have been giving and if that is not good enough, there is a MacDonalds down the street."
I may not get asked to work concessions next year......but I think I will survive the snub.....
Today, we went to church early and decided to brave the cold, cloudy day and go to the Busch Gardens passholder appreciation day. It was a little chilly at first and I thought we were going to be miserable but then the sun came out and it warmed up a little and we had a good time.
The kids are growing up so fast and both of them want to ride everything they can. It was a nice day. I hope you all had a great weekend too.

Everyone else is SNOOZIN' her in Snoozerville.

And I'm going to be joining them soon. I just realized that I did not blog today. We were too busy playing hopscotch (not so fun at 39, let me tell you!), playing badminton (Spelling??) and ...oh yeah, we did do some schoolwork too. The kids also pulled out the bubbles and had a good time with those. It has been an awesome weather week here. We have really been enjoying it.
But...I just heard on the news that bad weather is rolling in for the weekend and we may get some snow showers. Isn't that just crazy?
Well, that's all for the day, I gotta get to bed before those kids wake up!! (Just kidding but it seems like they wake up earlier and earlier every day) Don't they feel the time change? NO! They have actually been waking up earlier than usual and then you take the other hour away and that leaves one sleepy momma. I would say and daddy too but he falls asleep on the couch watching tv almost every night so he is making up for the lost time. I on the other hand have this crazy quirk that I can not sleep unless I am lying down in bed with no noise or lights. I definitely can't sleep with the television on. So goodnight!

So tired....can't stay up much longer.....must get some sleep.

I think my average, boring life lately has made me lazy. I have just been so sleepy lately. Now I know that the remedy for this is to get up off my rump and get busy but......I am still caught up in the doldrums of winter. I have the mental get up and go to get out there and start some major yard work, do some spring cleaning, paint the downstairs, and all kind of jobs like that, but the body is just not getting with the program. I just want to nap....My kids on the other hand, have absolutely no interest in ever sleeping again.....I think we may have irreconcilable differences here?

We do have hopes of getting outside today to play but all I want to do now is get about one more hour of sleep.... Anyway, guess what Mr. Financially responsible, my husband, did? He lost his debit/atm card. We spent an hour last night checking every possible hiding place and the best we can come up with is that he must of had a brain fart (sorry for the potty talk, lol) and forgot to grab it out of the atm machine along with his receipt on Monday when he got cash. That is so not my husband that we both find that hard to believe but its definitely missing. I called the lost card number last night and cancelled it, he checked our account to make sure there was no activity and then I had to call this morning and request him another card. I am just glad he missed it quickly since we don't use our debit card much anymore. It could have been missing a week or more before he went back to ATM machine.

Well better get going and get this girl in school, thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

You are not going to believe what happened today!!!

Not a stinkin' thing worth blogging about....that's what. We had a perfectly average day in the perfectly average life of this stay at home mom and her kids. Sure, we had our share of temper tantrums, and the kids even joined in occasionally...., we had our share of arguments, and I may have even won one or two....ok, just one but that's an improvement, we did actually leave our home for an hour or so for our library trip but that was even uneventful. My friend Scrappy D would say I have taken up permanent residence in Snoozerville.

School has gotten kind of normal lately and not that eventful. My girl still is never ready to start but once we get going, she is doing pretty well. We are actually completely done with her curriculum work and have just been supplementing with more reading than we did before and exploring a little more in the way of Science via some books from the library. I am so proud of her, can you tell? She is reading so well and seems to really have her phonic stuff down pat. She is even great a math but her weakness is in coin recognition. We go over it often and still she can't seem to remember them without a lot of guessing, but since the workbook I bought yesterday was a 1st and 2nd grade workbook and it still had a lot of work with coin recognition, I think we are doing okay.

I have been thinking a lot about my friend in Honduras on the mission trip today and every time I think of her, I have prayed for her. I don't know what's up with that but when she comes home, I am going to ask her if Tuesday was a difficult day. I admire the courage she and the other members of the mission team have in doing this. I pray that it all goes well. I am such a chicken when it comes to stuff like that so I doubt I would ever have the courage to go.

I am in the process of picking a paint color for my downstairs. Most of our downstairs is all open to the other rooms so I am planning on painting the entire downstairs the same color with the exception of our powder room which was painted recently. It is quite an interesting thing to choose a paint color. You have this 2 inch square of the color and try to imagine the entire room at that color. Sometimes it just doesn't turn out the way you think.

Well, that was our day. I hope yours was the best!

I got a big wake up call yesterday...

Did all of you realize that Easter, THE best holiday of the year, is only 2 weeks away!!! I just did not realize this. Easter was not even on my radar at all until yesterday in church when the pastor announced that it was just 2 weeks away! It seems like Spring and everything is just jumping up on me. I am still in full winter mode (especially since we haven't had one yet) and the time change seemed like it was months early to me yesterday and now Easter, which is the beginning of actual spring in my mind, is just 2 weeks away. I normally start adding stuff for the kiddos Easter baskets to my grocery shopping about a month in advance so that its not such a big hit at one grocery bill. I also start thinking about what everyone is going to wear and getting stuff together.

I know a lot of you think this is old-fashioned but I grew up in a family with very little money and we rarely got new clothes or candy so Easter was a big deal for us because my grandmother always tried to make sure we had something new to wear to church and each got an basket with goodies. My cousin, who was an only child, would always come over and we would have the best time hiding eggs and "finding" them again. By the end of the day, the colored eggs that we had made would be so cracked up and nasty looking that they were not edible. Now, my kids get to hunt for plastic eggs (my grandmother couldn't afford those but my aunt use to save the big eggs her pantyhose came in for our baskets) and they even get a toy of some sort and a new outfit but I think their best memories will come from spending the time with their cousins and family.

I absolutely love Easter. It is the beginning of spring for me (like I already said), there isn't the pressure or stress that you feel from Christmas, We normally go out to eat instead of all the ladies having to cook, we spend time with family and/or friends and we celebrate the fact that our Savior, Jesus Christ, rose from the dead and is coming again. To me, this is even more of a reason to celebrate than His birth, which is also important. So tonight when I get groceries, I will begin my Easter shopping a bit late but with a sense of excitement of the coming holiday and season.
Have a blessed day!!

Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore....

Today, I actually thought our house was going to blow away. My daughter's house, a cute pink, white and baby blue one out in our back yard, actually did.... well not away, just down and all about... The roof was on one side and the walls were collapsed on the other. My son's little tykes car was turned over in the yard and it looked like a mini little tykes tornado hit their stuff. We were blessed though, several areas have been hit with tornadoes in recent weeks.
We all stayed home all day. My DH was working on taxes, his favorite thing. My kids were working on our nerves, lol. My brother was playing Wii and I was suffering with another humdinger of a headache. I love my daughter, but her new pet is killing me with allergy and sinus issues. I sneeze my fool head off most days and have a headache the others. I take claritin everyday but it can't seem to handle it. Fun, Fun!!
I had the idea of getting the walls ready to paint today and buying paint tomorrow, but that didn't quite pan out. I did get all the stuff off the walls to get ready but we didn't have the putty or putty knife so we will have to postpone that little plan until later. That should be a blog post worthy of reading, when we paint our downstairs with two kids in the house wanting to "help".
I will be sure to keep you posted on that one as soon as they take me out of the straight jacket and I come off the PROZAC and whatever else they give a mom that has completely lost it.
I can just imagine the sure joy of that particular "family time". I am sure I will look back on it years from now and just smile.....Hmmmm....yeah.....
Well, that's all that happened in this little slice of heaven today. We did watch several movies in the last few days...."Mr.Magorium's Magic Emporium"...didn't hold the kids attention and I thought it was a dud but that's just my opinion..."The Brave One"....interesting and yet disturbing but worth watching, I would not say that I loved it but it was good..."Why Did I Get Married"...good movie, expected it to be funny but it was not really but it really had a good story. We also saw "Hoot" (with the kids), my dd liked it but it wasn't that good. We have one more for tomorrow night, "The Last Sin Eater", my friend, Baby Duck, says this is one of her favorites so we are looking forward to this one on her recommendation.
Well, better go fix the clock for morning before I hit the bed Gotta make sure we get up in time for church. Have a blessed day!

Meeting my new nephew...Sammy

Today, we met the newest member of our family. This is my furrbaby nephew, Sammy. Isn't he a cutie. He has reddish brown hair and green eyes (if you can find them under all that hair).
He is a sweet little boy but just couldn't hang too long with my girl. She wore him out in 30 mins. flat and all he wanted to do was sleep the rest of his visit. He is 3 months old and it is obvious that his mommy has already spoiled him rotten.
And for an update on my friends daughter, K. She went through her test yesterday very well. They got the results and they were negative which is a blessing in one way and not in another. Not to go into too much detail but a positive test would have meant that surgery can fix the problem but a negative means that the problem will stay with her and they will have to manage it with other means. But her mom was still glad that it was negative and she will not need surgery. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
Have a blessed day!

Quick prayer request....

Hi everyone! Just wanted to make a quick post this morning to request that you be praying for my friend's daughter K. She has to have a MRI today and after some other recent traumatic tests, she is very nervous about it. Please pray for excellent results and that she can relax enough for the test to go well.
As a matter of fact, if you are reading this, please join me right now in praying....
Dear Lord,
Please be with K. today as she is having her MRI. Please give her a sense of peace and calm and help her to relax and take away her fears. Please be with her mom and dad as I know they are worried about the results. Please wrap your arms around them and give them the assurance that you are with them during this time. We know that you have a purpose in this and pray that it is to show them that you are the great healer and will completely heal her of the problems that she is having. In Christ Name, Amen....

Thank you for praying with me.!!!
More of a regular post later....

Another beautiful Springlike day....

We had another wonderful warm day today. This was incentive for us to get school over with early and get outside. It was still a little wet from the storms last night but they still had fun. My DS is getting so funny as he gets older. His new favorite thing to say is "No Fankyou" (Or as you or I would say, No Thankyou). Everything you ask him is answered with this even if it doesn't apply or if he really wants what you are offering. He also acts out every scene in his favorite movies and then gets embarrassed and looks sheepish. He may not talk much out in public but we sure get plenty of communication at home. He has also mastered the art of climbing the slide and now will not slide down at all.
It is so fun to watch them grow up but scary too. My DD has already started to outgrow the swingset as far as just swinging and going down the slide. No she wants to climb up and stand on top of the monkey bars and then hang from her knees. She is constantly trying new and more dangerous "tricks" and it just puts your heart in your throat just to watch but I let her unless it is just crazy dangerous because I don't want to be overprotective. I just sit nearby and keep a close eye. She is getting so strong and muscular. All that swimming is really building her up.
Well, that is all that was going on in Snoozerville today, LOL. By the way, keep my friend in your prayers, she is leaving for a mission trip to Honduras on Saturday. She has heard some stories about how dangerous it can be but trusts in God to protect her and the rest of the group.
Also, pray that they get the work done they are going to do and that they have a safe journey.
Have a blessed day!

So much excitement.....

Yesterday was such an exciting day. My big boy used the "baffroom" but unfortunately it was a one hit wonder. I have tried several times to get him to repeat it and he just says "No Fankyou"
We apparently raise kids in this house that want to take full advantage of their diaper years. My dd absolutely refused to have anything to do with potty training until she was 3 1/2 years old. She was totally capable of doing it but just refused. It took the prospect of getting baby toys for Christmas to inspire her to become a big girl. I told her that is what she would be getting if she didn't start using the potty. But on the plus side, when she did it, it was over with in just one day.
My ds has used the potty several times but still will not do it regularly. I do not push him just like I did not push his sister because I know he will be ready one day and as a mom, it is actually easier to change diapers than to stop everything to help out and then clean up after each time they need to go. I have to admit though, it would be nice to get rid of the extra expense on our climbing grocery bill. Ok, enough potty talk....
Today is suppose to be really warm here and I am hoping to get school done early (we have finished all of our official curriculum for the school year but since it is just March, we will be reviewing and reinforcing things until May. I am not ready to start First grade with her yet and I really just want to make sure she is totally mastering everything she needs for kindergarten.
She is such a smart kid but her lack of focus and concentration leads me to believe she could still use some maturing time before we go much further.
I do not regret our decision to home school at all. It has been good to see her learn each and every concept and to know exactly where her strength and weaknesses are. I know we are going to do this again next school year and see where we stand from there. My ds will not be ready for K5 until she is in 3rd grade so I am hoping to do two more grades. Who knows, I may get so into it that we just keep going. Unless he is a slow learner or has problems, my son should be much easier to teach because he is much more calm and compliant than his big sister. Only time will tell and only God know what the future holds but Home Schooling is not as bad as I thought it would be.

Good Morning!!! I'm back.....

Howdy!! I am home and my batteries are recharged. I cropped til I dropped and talked my quota for the entire month of March. We had a really good time. Now I am back with my sweeties and my son has not let me leave his sight. He even woke up calling me during the night. He did not even want me to leave his sight long enough to unload the car. I waited until after he was asleep.
The house was still standing and not too much worse off than I left it. I did have to straighten up some and I have laundry to do but all in all, my DH did good. I am already sneezing again for my guinea pig ( I am assuming...) allergy. It was nice having 3 days sneeze free. We loved the hotel and the overall crop experience at this weekend crop. It was nice.

But back to real life.....We have school and grocery shopping and cleaning and cooking and all that good stuff to do. I have a new nephew to meet. My sister and BIL got a new puppy while I was away. I hear that he is a cutie that stole their hearts at first sight. My girl is SO excited about meeting him. My sister says she will bring him over soon for a playdate. He is an 11 week old Shih Tzu and his name is Sammy (if I remember correctly). I may be able to post pictures of him this weekend since he is a furbaby and therefore fair game for my blog.....
Well that is all for now. Have a blessed day!
